Woman in her 70's dies in Kilcarrig road crash

A woman in her 70’s has died in a road crash near Bagenalstown.

She was a passenger in a car which collided with a jeep at Kilcarrig at around quarter to 3 yesterday afternoon.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car – another woman in her 70’s was taken to St Lukes hospital with serious injuries.

A woman in her mid 30’s driving the jeep was also taken to hospital though her injuries are said to be not life threatening.

The road at Kilcarrig is open again this morning.
