Women’s refuge for Carlow could now be on the cards

It looks like a women’s refuge for Carlow could now be on the cards.

It comes as a campaign was started in recent weeks to get such a facility for the city and county.

Now, Carlow senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says it’s been announced that the council is in the process of looking for a suitable building.

She says it’s been revealed that they’re looking into purchasing a five-bed house but no time-frame has of yet been announced.
