Ireland’s Woodlands Show will be staged at Woodstock Gardens in Inistioge this weekend with Ceann Comhairle, Verona Murphy officially opening the event at 12 noon today.
The show, which promises a celebration of all things timber, was established by the Irish Wood Producers Group, and features a range of industry professionals based here in the South East.
Show Manager Alex Kelly told KCLR News that the event has evolved to include more family events…
“So previously when we first initiated the Woodland Show, we wanted it very bespoke to the forestry sector. But then we saw the popularity of the format of the show, so we’ve kept that format going each year and we’ve built on that, and it is widely popular with the general public.”
“I suppose we’re having more and more family activities, we’ll have obstacle courses, archery, the reptile zoo, arts and crafts, bushcraft, forest schools, drama schools. So we really are trying to cater for the whole family this time, and we hope that everybody will really, really enjoy it.”
