Work to continue on Kilkenny bridges as Supreme court upholds last weeks decision in High court

A written judgement is expected from the Supreme court in the coming days after it ruled yesterday that work could continue on 2 bridges in Kilkenny.

The High court issued temporary injunctions stopping the work on the new central Access scheme bridge and the ossory pedestrian bridge on Sept 4th.

They were lifted last week but an appeal to that decision was brought to the Supreme court.

It upheld the High court decision to lift the works ban

Acting Director of Services with the council Simon Walton told Sue Nunn this morning that the bridge works will continue
