Work to restart on Kilkenny bridges after injunctions lifted
Work will be restarting tomorrow on the Nore bridges in Kilkenny.
High Court injunctions have been lifted today that stopped all work on the controversial new Central Access Scheme bridge and the new Ossory pedestrian bridge.
The ban came after a case was taken claiming the unique habitat of the hard water pearl mussel in the River Nore were being damaged by the construction work.
Kilkenny Co Co is estimating that the delays so far to the project have cost over €550,000.
