The formal contract will be signed next week for a very significant 4 million euro project in the heart of Kilkenny city.
The restoration of St Mary’s Church will form an integral part of the Medieval Mile project in the city with plans for a new national museum there that should see it transformed into a major tourist attraction.
Contractors will move onto the site next week to start a 16 month project there.
