Kilkenny Lions Club members have been hailed for their endeavours to help those in the city and county.
They gathered at the Newpark Hotel last night to launch their 2026 Christmas campaign, which includes the auction on KCLR in association with the Kilkenny People – more than 200 local businesses donate items to that each year, with 100% of the proceeds helping those in need across the city and county.
It kicks off on the last Thursday of November with the first of two Farm Show lots listings with more on three days in the first week of December, all winding to a close that Thursday with the second agri offerings.
It’s the 34th year of the fundraiser and comes as the group is set to mark the 60th anniversary of its founding at the Newpark Hotel next year.
KCLR News’ Edwina Grace was there last night and spoke with President of Kilkenny Lions Club, Pat Cahill;
Brian Cody’s the Ambassador for the group and joins members each year for the launch of their festive fundraiser;
Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr Joe Malone;
