A Kilkenny dairy farmer has been named the FBD Young farmer of the year.
PJ O’Keeffe from Callan was selected as the overall winner at the finals in Castlebar last night.

The 31 year old took over the running of the family farm 2 years ago and in that time has expanded the herd from 72 to 430 cows.
The judging involved an on-farm inspection and an interview process.

He’s been awarded a €3,000 travel bursary.
