The young Kilkenny girl who died during a Kodaline concert on Friday night has been named locally as Ciara Lawlor.
The 17-year-old was a 5th-year student at the Loreto in Kilkenny City.
It’s understood she had a pre-existing medical condition and suddenly became ill at the concert in Marlay Park.
She was treated by the on-site medical team and removed to Tallaght Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
In a statement on their Facebook page last night, Kodaline say they were “shocked and devastated” to be informed of Ciara’s death.
They say their thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
Ciara was also a member of Kilkenny City Harriers Athletics Club who have also expressed their deep sympathies to those who knew her.
