Over 300 Kilkenny health workers are set to be balloted on industrial action later.
It’s over a row between their union IMPACT and the HSE over a job evaluation scheme.
These 300-plus staff work in administration, managerial and clerical roles at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilcreene Hospital and other health centres in Kilkenny.
The IMPACT trade union is holding an information meeting at the Springhill Court hotel at 6pm this evening.
Members will hear from national secretary Éamonn Donnelly about the ins and out of issue and they can cast their ballot afterwards.
The union says the HSE and the Department of Health are reneging on a Lansdowne Road Agreement promise to re-instate the job evaluation scheme.
This initiative allows staff to be promoted if their roles and responsibilities have changed sufficiently.
It’s been suspended now for eight years.
