A Carlow businessman who visited the Greece/Macedonia border this week to deliver shoes to refugees has told KCLR news he’s “never been as shocked in his life”
Kevin Kelly who established the ‘Jacket off your back’ campaign in Carlow, travelled over to Idomeni to deliver 5 thousand pairs of shoes he had collected through the ‘Shoe the Children’ campaign.

Speaking to KCLR from Macedonia, Kevin says the situation facing refugees over there is heart-breaking.
Meanwhile the summit on the migrant crisis continues today, as EU leaders try to finalise a controversial ‘one in, one out’ deal with Turkey.
The proposed agreement would see all migrants travelling to Greece from Turkey sent back.
For every person that Turkey accepts, a Syrian refugee would be resettled in Europe.
The Turks will also be offered incentives, including financial aid and visa-free access to the EU.
