Taoiseach Enda Kenny is guest of honour at an IFA event in Kilkenny tonight

The Taoiseach is a guest of honour at an event taking place in Kilkenny tonight.

Enda Kenny is attending the IFA Anniversary Dinner which is marking 50 years since local farmers marched to the Dail in protest over farmers rights.

12 of the Kilkenny men are still alive and have been invited to the event which is in the Newpark hotel from 8 o clock.

Kilkenny IFA Present John Bambrick says the protest gave the Irish Farmers Association respect, something they still have today.
