Warning as door-to-door scammers hit Carlow

You’re being warned to be on the lookout for door-to-door scammers in Carlow after an elderly man had a close call today.

The county council, Gardaí and the ESB were notified after a pensioner in Graiguecullen reported a man had called to his house saying he was going to read the metre.

However, he then went into the house saying he had to measure the windows.

A spokesperson for the council, Éamonn Brophy told KCLR News that thankfully nothing was taken but he’s urging you to always request some for of identification from workers.
