Kilkenny County Council will hear a motion today for pressure to be put on the HSE to reverse the restrictions on access to pain patches.
Earlier this year the Health Service decided to restrict access to the Versatis patches to just patients experiencing post-shingles pain.
For any other chronic pain, the GP has to send in an application for the patient to be considered as an exception.
However, Councillor David Kennedy says he’s been hearing from a lot of local people who need it but haven’t been able to get it.
