Two local mothers are in the running for the title of Family Carer of the Year today.
The awards ceremony will get underway this morning in Dublin.

Carlow’s representative is Lucy Meaney, while Linda Comerford is there from Kilkenny – both of them care for their children with special needs.
The 4 regional Young Carers of the Year will also be announced.
