Inspectors from Air Accident Investigation Unit to visit Co Laois site where a plane had to make an emergency landing in a field

Three inspectors from the Air Accident Investigation Unit are visiting a Laois site after a plane was forced into an emergency landing last evening.

The micro-light aircraft experienced an engine problem and came down in a field near Limetree close to Mountmellick.

There are no reports of any injuries but the scene is being examined and gardaí too were alerted to the incident.
