Kilkenny Councillor Deirdre Cullen says it doesn’t make sense that you would be stretching 12 months of work into nine

The Transport Minister can expect a letter from councillors of the Callan Thomastown municipal district.

They’re set to write to Darragh O’Brien pleading with his Department to give earlier notification of approved funding for some roads projects.

Typically, county councils are told in February how much they’re getting to spend, they have until March to agree where that money will go and the works must be completed by the end of the year.
