Carlow and Kilkenny are being lashed while under a weather warning.
The rain notice which continues until 5 o’clock this evening has also hit Wexford, Waterford, Wicklow and Tipperary.
While Cork and Kerry too are impacted until about 2pm with all six counties in Northern Ireland experincing heavy rain to 9pm tonight.
There’s a lot of surface water about and Carlow Weather’s Alan O Reilly doesn’t see that changing any time soon, noting it’s set to be; “A very wet morning across the country after some heavy falls overnight and rain continuing through this morning and this afternoon with some local spot flooding, the rain will slowly begin to clear northwards through this evening but over 30mm of rain is possible for those areas with a yellow weather warning”.
