A new car parking offering in a county Carlow town will begin its triall today.
The local authority has agreed with St Mary’s Church of Ireland in Bagenalstown that 25 spaces be provided for those visiting.
This will run for a six month period when it’ll then be reviewed.
Cathaoirleach of the municipal district Cllr Daniel Pender says it provides a boost for the area, telling KCLR News; “These spaces will be provided for free and they’ll be available to the public to use to go about their business in Bagenalstown, it’s following a number of concerns being raised around carparking capacity in the town and it’s very welcome, it’s now over to people to use it and to get out and shop local”.
