Cold start for Carlow and Kilkenny with warnings temperatures to drop lower tonight

It’s a cold start to the weekend for Carlow and Kilkenny with warnings temperatures will only drop again later.

Many took to local roads this morning to find them icy in parts, especially in estates close to Kilkenny city, including Larchfield.

Both counties fall under a status yellow notice from Met Éireann for tonight:

A second, similar notice hits the area from 6pm tomorrow (Sunday, 4th Jan) with temperatures also set to dip as low as -4 degrees with sharp or severe frost and icy stretches.
