The green light’s been given to a major development at a Kilkenny city premises.
O’Keeffe’s of Kilkenny Limited has had planning permission granted with conditions by the county council for works at 15 and 16 John Street Lower.
Plans include a new single-storey retail building, as well as a new licensed restaurant building beside the recently completed Boutique Brewhouse.
The development would also see the existing Tap Room and Wine Centre converted into a licensed café, restaurant and wine bar.
The company is set to convert No. 15 John Street into three short-stay boutique accommodation units, while retaining similar short-stay use at No. 16.
Other elements of the plan include a licensed whiskey retail and bar area, a gelato outlet, new signage, and improvements to pedestrian areas, including paving and seating.
