Five survivors of sexual abuse by convicted paedophile Bill Kenneally are calling for an apology in the Dáil following the publication of a Commission of Investigation report into how allegations against him were handled.
The report found widespread failings by An Garda Síochána, the South Eastern Health Board, senior political figures and Church authorities.

However, it found no evidence of widespread collusion by state agencies to prevent Kenneally’s prosecution.
The former basketball coach is serving a 19-year sentence for abusing 15 boys in Waterford between 1979 and 1990.

The Tánaiste says he hopes the report will provide victims with long-awaited answers.
