A cross-agency effort is being planned to tackle recurring fires in the Ferrybank area of South Kilkenny.
Chairman of the county’s Local Community Safety Partnership Pat Fitzpatrick says around 40 fires have been reported in the area each year, putting pressure on emergency services and potentially diverting resources from other incidents.
An Garda Síochána, Kilkenny and Waterford fire services, the local authority and residents will work together on prevention measures and community engagement during Fire Prevention Week in October.
Cllr. Fitzpatrick say they will operate S-A-R-A as he explained to KCLR News
