A Carlow Councillor has called for immediate improvements to the town’s bus service while a long-awaited review by the National Transport Authority remains delayed.
Fintan Phelan proposed the route change at their monthly meeting that would see buses serve important areas.
He told fellow councillors that the service has been a major success and that small adjustments could greatly improve accessibility for residents while plans for future expansion continue.
Cllr Phelan outlined to KCLR News what areas would benefit the change, saying; “One of them is at Castle Oaks and the Sue Ryder Home, the buses go by there any way and they do a turn at the roundabout there and go back out as part of their route, there’s no reason why it couldn’t stop there and get the residents from Castle Oaks and the Sue Ryder Home and also the Four Lakes Retail Park an cover that whole area with a very small tweak”.
