Gardaí investigating the disappearance and murders of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob have confirmed a search of open ground has begun on the Wicklow / Kildare border.
Jo Jo went missing while trying to make her way home from Dublin to county Kilkenny on the 9th of November 1995. Three years later Deidre disappeared close to her home in Newbridge, County Kildare.
A spokesperson for Garda Press has told KCLR News this morning that “Gardaí were assisted by the Defence Forces last week, under Aid to Civil Power arrangements in completing a technical ground survey of an area in County Wicklow, near the Wicklow/Kildare border. This area of land will now be searched and subject to excavation and forensic examinations over the coming days”.
The operation’s being led by the Serious Crime Review Team, Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation in conjunction with Gardaí from the Kildare/Carlow Divison and supported by the Garda National Technical Bureau as well as the Wicklow Garda Division.
It follows a search earlier this year – more on that here – while both families are being kept up-to-date on the investigations.
Anybody with information to share on either is reminded it’s never too late to come forward to any garda station or AGS’ Confidential Line: 1800 666 111
