Kilkenny wrestler “Chainsaw” Luke Frehill is celebrating one of the biggest achievements of his career after capturing the OTT Tag Team Championships at Over The Top Wrestling’s Dead On event in Belfast.
The show, which took place at the Europa Hotel, featured the culmination of several long-running rivalries while also creating new storylines that left fans talking long after the final bell.
One of the night’s biggest shocks involved Paulstown native Frehill and his bitter rival, former best friend Cian Noonan.
Earlier in the evening, Frehill came out on the losing end of his latest encounter with Noonan, a defeat that appeared to cost him his prized Golden Opportunity contract — a unique prize allowing the holder to challenge any champion at a time of their choosing.
However, in a twist that stunned the Belfast crowd, Frehill and Noonan unexpectedly put their differences aside and used the contract together to challenge the newly-crowned OTT Tag Team Champions, B.D.E.
Just two minutes after celebrating their championship victory, B.D.E. found themselves dethroned as Frehill and Noonan walked away with the gold, leaving fans inside the Europa Hotel shocked and searching for answers.
Why the two rivals suddenly aligned remains unclear, but the move instantly transformed one of OTT’s most heated feuds into one of its most intriguing storylines.
The title victory caps an impressive 2026 for Frehill, who has continued to establish himself as one of Ireland’s fastest-rising wrestling stars.
The Kilkenny man has competed across Ireland and Europe this year and even made an appearance on WWE television during the company’s European tour earlier in the season.
Noonan has also enjoyed a breakthrough year, recently earning a WWE tryout and building a growing reputation on the independent wrestling scene.
Both men train at The School of Irish Wrestling in Clondalkin, a school that has become one of the country’s most respected training grounds and continues to produce talent capable of competing on the international stage. They have a beginners course occurring at the end of June, more info here.
Their championship success places them in elite company. The OTT Tag Team Championships have previously been held by WWE stars Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, while former champions Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis have gone on to achieve major success with AEW.
For Frehill, the championship win represents another major milestone in a rapidly developing career, while the unexpected alliance with Noonan has created one of the most compelling stories currently unfolding in Irish wrestling.
With championship gold now around their waists and momentum firmly behind them, the future looks bright for the new OTT Tag Team Champions.
