With over 10,000 daily vehicle movements on the N80, one Carlow Councillor has suggested that it’s time to examine the development of a motorway linking the midlands and South Leinster to Rosslare Europort.
Given the pending expansion of Rosslare to accommodate offshore renewable energy, the growing levels of road freight accessing the port and with our main transport arteries likely to become even busier over the next decade, Fianna Fáil’s Andrea Dalton believes a full upgrade of the N80 is worth a discussion.
Cllr Dalton told KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes that the prospect of developing a new motorway was worthy of consideration;
