4,000 local families are to get the Back to School Clothing & Footwear Allowance this year.
They’re among 126,000 across the country to get a share of a €48.8 million funding pot announced by Minister Dara Calleary.
Yesterday, the Irish League of Credit Unions outlined the financial burden on parents and guardians with the costs for primary school pupils in the region of €1,600 while those at secondary level expecting to pay more than €2,000 (more here).
