Man arrested following seizure of suspected cannabis and cocaine worth €122,000 in county Laois

A man’s been arrested in connection with the seizure of suspected drugs in County Laois.

As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí carried out a search under warrant of a residence in Stradbally yesterday during which they uncovered approx €85,000 cannabis herb, €35,000 cocaine and €2,400 cannabis resin, all of which will undergo analysis.

As part of the investigation a man aged in his forties was arrested and has been detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in the Offaly area.

Investigations are ongoing.
