One man’s died following a crash in County Tipperary.
The single vehicle incident happened on the R505 near Dundrum at about 5:30pm yesterday (Thursday, 16th July).
The driver, who was aged in his fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene with his body taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anybody who was on the stretch between 5:30pm and 6pm, in particular those with footage of any form, to contact them via Tipperary Garda Station on (062) 80670, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
It brings to four the number of people killed on roads across the island in the last 24 hours.
An elderly married couple died in a two-vehicle collision in Co Louth, with two others airlifted to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
While a 24-year-old woman died after a hit-and-run in North Belfast yesterday – it’s understood she was originally from Tipperary – a man’s been arrested.
