Carlow Councillor John Cassin calls for HSE & Health Minister to reform admission process for those presenting with mental health issues

A Carlow County Councillor has called for the HSE and Minister for Health to reform the admission process for those presenting to at A&E with suicidal thoughts and mental health issues.

Cllr. John Cassin brought forward the motion at their recent plenary meeting.

The Independent Ireland representative has been telling KCLR News’ Owain Comerford that changes are needed to ensure that people in crisis receive an appropriate level of assessment when they arrive in an emergency department;
