The road to county championship glory took another turn on Sunday evening, as the latest knockout pairings were confirmed at UPMC Nowlan Park.
There was plenty of action across the Kilkenny hurling championships over the weekend, with the senior quarter-final line-up now decided.
St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling Championship
The quarter-final draw has produced the following ties:
- Shamrocks v Glenmore
- O’Loughlin Gaels v Tullaroan
- Thomastown v Clara
- Bennettsbridge v Graigue-Ballycallan
The draw follows a weekend of action which saw Glenmore overcome Dicksboro by 5-28 to 3-27, with Ciaran Kirwan scoring a hat-trick for the winners.
Tullaroan defeated Mullinavat by 1-28 to 2-20, while Clara overcame Erin’s Own by 1-21 to 2-15 in the relegation semi-final/first round.
Bennettsbridge also progressed after a 0-23 to 0-14 victory over Danesfort.
In the Shield Final, O’Loughlin Gaels defeated Graigue-Ballycallan by 0-19 to 1-17, while Shamrocks claimed the League Final against Thomastown, winning 0-26 to 1-22.
Intermediate Championship
The semi-final line-up has also been confirmed in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling Championship.
Tullogher-Rosbercon will face James Stephens, while Lisdowney take on Rower-Inistioge.
All four sides secured their places in the last four following the weekend’s knockout action.
Junior Championship Draws
In Round 2 of the JJ Kavanagh Premier Junior Hurling Championship, Conahy Shamrocks and Graignamanagh booked their places in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the next round of the JJ Kavanagh Junior Hurling Championship will see:
- John Lockes v St Patrick’s Ballyragget
- Piltown v Conahy Shamrocks
- Emeralds v Graignamanagh
