Between 190 and 250 separate living spaces could be built on a key Kilkenny city site.
The early estimates formed part of the draft framework for housing developments at St Canice’s Campus which were revealed at this week’s Kilkenny County Council meeting.
Although plans are still in their infancy, Cllr Eugene McGuinness says the local authority and TFI need to act fast to ensure adequate services for locals are in place before plans are finalised.
He told KCLR News’ Owain Comerford “The most important thing for me is that we be proactive, if we are indeed going to develop St Canice’s, at whatever time frame that is, put in the bus route now so people can plan ahead, similarly with the Lacken Walk, there’s a connectivity between the Lacken Walk and Maudlin Street, which is a beautiful walk and that needs to be done, we can do that now, we can be proactive, we can do that now and that’s what’s important”.
