Kathleen Funchion says independents should be allowed vote how they want on abortion legislation

A local TD believes that Independents should be allowed to vote whichever way they wish on proposed legislation on abortion, to be debated in the Dáil next week.

Sinn Féin’s Kathleen Funchion was speaking to KCLR ahead of Mick Wallace’s proposal of a bill that would allow for abortions in the case of foetal abnormalities.

However, it remains unclear whether Independent TDs supporting the government will be allowed a free vote on the Bill, something Deputy Funchion believes is wrong.
