“A huge relief for families” – Kathleen Funchion reacts as medical cards bill passed for domiciliary care

Carlow Kilkenny Sinn Fein TD Kathleen Funchion says the decision to grant medical cards to children who get domiciliary care allowance is a huge relief for families.

Simon Harris announced the law change in a late sitting of the Dáil last night after Sinn Féin’s motion to speed up the process received cross-party support.

The Government originally planned to award the cards to around 10-thousand children after the budget.

Deputy Funchion says the process of getting those cards in pass is daunting.
