The spotlight is on Gowran Park this afternoon for one of the biggest days in Irish racing — the Thyestes Chase.
The feature race, set to go to post at 2:48 PM, will see Carlow-based trainer Willie Mullins aiming for a record-breaking 10th victory. Waterford’s Henry de Bromhead, a two-time winner of the contest, returns with high hopes after last year’s success with Rachael Blackmore aboard Ain’t That A Shame.
Track manager Eddie Scally shared his excitement for the day:
“After a dry night in Gowran Park last night, we are all set for the 2025 Goffs Thyestes Chase. Our going is soft on both the hurdle and chase courses, and we’re looking forward to an exciting 7-race card. The first race is going to post at 1:03 PM, and our courtesy buses will be leaving from the Castle Gates at 11 AM. The Thyestes Chase itself will be going to post at 2:48. It should be an excellent day at Gowran Park, and we ask anyone attending to please give yourself a bit of time, arrive early, and enjoy a wonderful day of racing.”*
KCLR will be broadcasting live from the track from 1 PM to bring you all the atmosphere, with live coverage of the feature race at 2:45 PM.
Gowran Park is ready for another unforgettable Thyestes Chase Day — make sure to tune in or head out to enjoy the action!
