Almost 28,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Republic

There are now almost 28,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Republic, with 271 cases in Kilkenny and 136 cases in Carlow.

A further 219 were confirmed last night along with an additional 18 deaths.

It means the total death toll now stands at close to 1,500.
