Bruce Springsteen to issue cover of Pogues song he’d included in Kilkenny set list

Bruce Springsteen is to pay tribute to Shane MacGowan with a cover of the Pogue’s ‘A Rainy Night in Soho’.

Fans of the US star got to hear his performance of the track live at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny in May 2024 months after the death of the Irish legend.

Now his widow Victoria Mary Clarke has issued this social media posting;

Springsteen previously described the late Pogue’s frontman as one of his “all-time favourite” writers.

The cover is due to be released on Thursday, with a pre-save link now live online.
