Don’t be surprised to see some well-known characters out and about as Carlow and Kilkenny mark World Book Day.
Many schools have told their pupils, and staff, to come dressed as their favourite hero and if last year’s sights are anything to go by that alone should be fun.
KCLR News’ Martin Quilty stopped off at Glenmore National School to chat to some of the pupils who’d donned costumes for the occasion;
Libraries locally have lots on too while An Post and Children’s Books Ireland have teamed up to donate and deliver over 40,000 writings to children who are in hospitals or care settings today.
Tokens too to pick up a little something at book stores have been issued to a number of young people across the country.
Adults are encouraged to take time out to read as well.
Stay tuned to hear of a giveaway with Khan’s Books, Kilkenny, on The Afternoon Crew today from 1-4pm.
