A local councillor has welcomed funding for housing adaptations grants that help people remain living in their own homes.
As we announced yesterday €5.7 million has been allocated to Carlow and Kilkenny which is part of a wider national package of over €152 million allocated nationwide.
The grants can be used for works such as build on an extra bedroom, re-roof or re-wire the house or install level access showers.
Cllr Tommy Kinsella told KCLR News “This money actually keeps people in their own homes and their own surroundings, also saving the State quite a lot of money because if they were in a nursing home it would cost multiples of this, so it’ll be money very, very well spent”.
