Carlow Lions are teaming up in aid of St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen yet again.
We recently heard on KCLR Breakfast how the Graiguecullen based hot-meals provider caters to up to 130 people each day and funding that is often a struggle.
Now, the county’s crew of individuals who donate their time to helping their community is set to partner with Fr John Dunphy and his crew for their annual Christmas Hamper Appeal.
A typical hamper comprises essential food items with some festive treats and will be delivered to each needy household two to three days before Christmas Day in the hope that it would in some way contribute to a more enjoyable Christmas for the recipients.
Club members believe that their traditional food appeal resonates with the public who respond very positively to a tangible physical food collection and all food collected will reach the target families and individuals through the hospitality kitchen.
President of Carlow Lions Club, Tom Clowry says “ We at Carlow Lions Club are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Carlow people who have continued to support this project over the past 30 years. It is through this continued support that we, together with our partners, can once again
this Christmas provide some comfort to those in need.”
Fr Dunphy of Saint Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen says “ Saint Clare’s Hospitality are delighted to join with Carlow Lions Club and Saint Vincent de Paul in the Christmas Food Appeal. Thanks to the generosity of the people of Carlow we are able to make up hundreds of hampers., All of us are working together to help families who are struggling this Christmas”
You’re asked to please support this most worthy cause by donating non-perishable food items at collection points at Dunnes Stores, Tesco Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Raths Londis, and Supervalu on 5th-7th and 12th-14th December, or they will accept cash or card donations.
