Kilkenny’s Bobby Aylward says the response from the Minister of Health about the possibility of St Luke’s trauma services being downgraded has been completely unsatisfactory.
The Fianna Fáil TD submitted a question to Simon Harris after it emerged from a leaked Trauma Steering Group report that it’s being suggested that the services be removed from St Luke’s ED.

Just this year, a €20 million upgrade to the Emergency Department was finally completed.
Deputy Aylward says the response he got to his question about the future of the local trauma services wasn’t satisfactory.

The Minister said that he hadn’t yet seen the report and that no decisions had been made.
Deputy Aylward says a definite answer is needed.
