Suzanne Jarvie, Kate Fenner, Chris Brown & Tony Scherr are on tour in Ireland and are a group of musicians for which the word ‘simpatico’ was coined. They’ve played together on each other’s albums, been on tour, grown up, met and combined in a cohesive unit that is a pure joy to witness. Even as I pressed ‘record’ they were still finessing and adding to each other’s songs, finding new ways to make each other sound better. We captured three songs in the session, one from Suzanne’s album “Spiral Road”, one from Kate and one featuring Chris, stepping in to the limelight for a change. He is the glue that holds this group together but they are equals with a common purpose. We chat about life too, what brings a songwriter to that creative edge and how music gets made within a totally supportive environment and how a great album has come about.
