Four people have been rescued from local waters this week.
Last evening KCLR News reported on how a major operation was launched in Kilkenny city.
It saw the Coastguard Helicopter dispatched to the Nore to help personnel from the Fire Service, Civil Defence and Gardaí who’d attended to an emergency call from two kayakers that got stuck on the weir close to Maudlin Street.
The couple was brought to safety with help from local fishermen and did not require any medical treatment. (More here).
Meanwhile, it’s also emerged that a woman and her 13-year-old daughter were helped out of the Barrow in recent days.
It’s understood that a young local man was quick to offer his assistance and brought both to safety.
