More than 500 people were interviewed during a Europe-wide Garda operation targeting labour exploitation.
Between September 20th and 28th, Gardaí carried out inspections at 148 locations across Ireland alongside officials from the Workplace Relations Commission, Revenue, and the Department of Social Protection.
No cases of human trafficking were uncovered, but Gardaí say they’ll continue working with Europol and other agencies to identify and protect potential victims and bring those responsible to justice.
An Garda Síochána appeals to any person who may be the victim of human trafficking or sexual exploitation to come forward and speak with them, either at a local Garda station, or to call the Garda Confidential Phone Number on 1800 666 111.
