You can expect to see increased Garda visibility across Kilkenny in the coming months.
An Garda Síochána says its mobile unit will tour the county, giving people a chance to meet local members.
The initiative allows the public to raise concerns, ask questions, and access services like passport form assistance.
It’s aimed at improving access to policing in rural areas and strengthening community engagement, as Sgt Steven Allen outlined to KCLR News.
“Exactly, and that’s why we’re doing it because we want to be seen in these communities we want people to know that we are about I understand a lot of people will say that the guards are passing by but they’re not on the street and stuff and that can be resource issues too but what we’re doing is we’re engaging, we’re on the street we’re high visibility, we’re in our uniform, we’re in the van you can’t miss this big bright white van in the middle of the villages we’re out, we’re meeting people, we have all our equipment here with us and we’re able to engage with them and offer the services that we can.” said Sgt Allen
