The HSE will continue to run a unit at St Patricks Centre in Kilkenny until well into September.
A closure order was made in respect of Our Ladys Unit back in June – that expired in recent weeks but an extended order of 56 days was issued at Kilkenny District Court.

In a statement to KCLR News the HSE says it continues to work with the cooperation of staff at St Patricks to address the concerns highlighted by HIQA in their inspections.
It says steps have been taken to address immediate fire safety issues and additional staffing and other resources have been assigned as required.
The HSE is also working with residents and their families to minimise any impact on their care.
