A Kilkenny man says the behaviour of some England fans overshadowed the whole occasion at Wembley last night.
It followed the Euro 2020 final last night, where England was beaten by Italy.
Martin Prendergast who’s from Dunnamaggin is chairman of the London branch of the Republic of Ireland supporters club.
He was there as a neutral and brought along his 9-year-old son who has gone to several games with him before.
Meanwhile, Twitter says it’s removed over 1000 posts and permanently suspended users after racist abuse aimed at England footballers.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says those responsible should be ‘ashamed’.
