Kilkenny’s Senior camogie team will start their Division 1 campaign with a home tie against Galway on Saturday, February 22. A game you’ll be able to hear live on KCLR.
Speaking to KCLR at the launch of the 2025 Very National League, vice-captain of the Kilkenny Senior camogie team, Kelly Ann Doyle, reflected on past performances and set expectations for the season ahead.
The vice-captain spoke about last year’s disappointing season but highlighted the valuable experience that many young players gained.
“Last year was a bit of a disappointment so I think this year everyone is looking forward to getting started and getting everything kicked off again. Last year there were plenty of young girls bred in and they got plenty of game time so that will nothing but stand to us again once we start kicking off matches”
With the expertise of newly appointed manager Tommy Shefflin, Kelly Ann says the team is full of energy and focused on the goal of improving on last season’s performance.
“Tommy brings a different level of professionalism to the setup so I think everyone is absolutely buzzing to have a manager of his calibre” “If we can get one better and get back into Croke Park for All Ireland Semi-final day that’s a big win for us”
