Local sports volunteers to be honored next week at National awards

Two local sports volunteers are to be honoured at next weeks Federation of Irish Sports Volunteer in Sports Awards.

Simon Racklyeft, from Carlow Town Hurling and Camogie Club, has been named as the County Carlow recipient while Garry Kehoe, from Marble City Boxing Club is the County Kilkenny recipient.

The awards honour those who keep Irish sport thriving.

It estimated that 460,000 volunteers give their time to support 1.47 million club members across Ireland each week.
